While most festivals span a weekend, the Sawdust Art Festival runs from June 29 - September 2, 2007, in Laguna Beach, Orange County, California, and features live entertainment almost every day. Though the focus of the festival is on traditional art forms such as painting, sculpture, ceramics, and mixed media, guitar lovers will not be disappointed by the wide variety of music genres (everything from flamenco to surf rock) and guitarists presented throughtout the event. 2006 marks the fesitval's 40th anniversary and more than 200,000 visitors are expected to enjoy the 102 entertainment acts (including Modern Guitars contributor Dan Yablonka) performing on three stages. Festival organizers will use 110,000 pounds of sawdust to keep the summer dust at bay, hence the festival's name. Event website.

Summer Schedule 2007       HI folks.... well it's that time of year again. The Sawdust Festival is already up and running... man time flies.  You'll see a list of 6 dates that I'll be playing this summer.    There are some different faces in the line up this summer. I will be playing with old friend and guitarist extrordinaire, Bob Hawkins for 4 of 6 and on one of those, joined by Paul McIntyre on the fiddle. Paul played on my last CD, Bordertown. he's phenominally gifted.

   Also... welcome back one of my favorite songwriters, Guitarist, vocalist (played Drums for Robben Ford and a host of others) Michelle Mangione and Steve Soest her compadre and my long time guitar guru. Steve has played with many greats like Dick Dale and the Torquays for decades.

Marine Room Tavern in Laguna Beach and Beth has graciously
invited me to be on the regular rotation. The fun starts at 8:00 with Beth doing a set of her originals and then several writer's will follow.

I will be joined by the Beth~host ("ess" sorry N.O.W.) herself and a host of others such as the occasional appearance by Steve Wood,  Bob Hawkins, Michelle Mangione, Steve Soest, Greg Leisz rare appearances (every 4th blue moon)  and more. Please come down and check out this new hang.
